A perfect gift for a special child or adult!
Eight 30-Minute Weekly Horseriding Lessons

The gift that will have a lasting, positive influence on their life forever!
I have seen shy, quiet, insecure riders of all ages blossom as they have grown in confidence and self-esteem while learning to ride a horse. I have also witnessed non-verbal autistic children and adults discover and use their voice to communicate as a result of their horseriding experiences at the ranch. The student discovers a relationship built upon trust between himself or herself and this great big animal we call a horse. This relationship with the horse is an excellent avenue for a child or adult to overcome fear and to grow in self-confidence and self-esteem while learning how to assert themselves in a loving manner. As the student grows in this wonderful relationship with a horse, he or she experiences some of life's most valuable lessons; how to trust and be trustworthy and how to give and receive the gift of love.
Horses teach us to believe in the impossible!

A CHA certified riding instructor of riders with disabilities, Anita offers the Specialized Riding Program to children and adults faced with various challenges in their personal and physical development, such as Autism, ADD, ADHD, PTSD, RAD, Down's Syndrome, MIR, and a host of other developmental issues. Each lesson is personalized to the student's needs. Through one-on-one instruction, he or she learns how to overcome the obstacles they face, both physical and mental. We use successful techniques that challenge each student in a manner that helps to unlock the potential they have within themselves.
The highlight of the program is to see every student achieve personal success and growth with every lesson, further building their confidence and self-esteem.
In this program, a student may, if appropriate, begin his or her learning adventure with the horse initially working with the miniature horse, learning basic grooming techniques and care of the horse, along with basic ground work in leading exercises with the mini. This helps to establish a leadership role for the student with the horse in a manner that may be less intimidating. From this stage, he or she may progress to working with one of the quarter horses to include learning to properly mount and ride.
Instruction will vary depending upon each student"s own particular needs and the selection of horse (quarter horse or miniature) will also vary dependent upon each rider's own special needs. Throughout the program, the emphasis is on helping each student grow in self-confidence, over-coming fears and obstacles, while at the same time developing a close relationship with the horse and learning to enjoy a safe ride on this wonderful friend, the horse.
Learning to properly ride a horse offers numerous physical, social, and emotional benefits to the rider. Below are some of those therapeutic benefits.
